Jana Shakarian is a sociologist, anthropologist, and aspiring professional photographer. Her research has included the study of international terrorist organizations, “new war” theory, non-verbal communication, and social capital. Currently, she is studying the sociological aspects of international hacking groups. Jana previously conducted research at the West Point Network Science Center and the University of Marland Laboratory for Computational Cultural Dynamics (LCCD) where she co-authored the new book Computational Analysis of Terrorist Groups: Lashkar-e-Tabia. More recently, her attentions turned to cyber warfare with her new book Introduction to Cyber-Warfare: A Multidisciplinary Approach.
